ODISHA TEX 2025

One of the main thrust sectors for economic development, according to the Odisha government, is the textile, technical textile, and apparel industries. For companies establishing manufacturing facilities in Odisha, the government is providing the best policy incentives available. The largest names in the sector, such as Aditya Birla, Page International, and Shahi Exports, have made a number of greenfield and brownfield investments in the new policy, which was unveiled in 2022 during the "Make in Odisha" Conclave.

Many of the major clothing manufacturers have established their operations in Odisha due to the abundance of workforce that is adequate for this industry's needs. The state serves as a natural entry point to the economies of South Asia and South-East Asia (ASEAN) due to its advantageous location in the country's east. With a combined cargo handling capacity of 170 MTPA, Odisha's three main ports—Paradeep, Dhamra, and Gopalpur—along its 450 km coastline are well connected to all major international ports of call.

The government of Odisha has established textile parks and industrial estates throughout the state to draw in investment and encourage the expansion of the textile industry. One such instance is the Bhadrak district's Integrated Textile Park, which offers textile units cutting-edge facilities, shared spaces, and support services. By encouraging both domestic and foreign investment and making it easier to build textile manufacturing facilities, these textile parks seek to establish a supportive environment for the production of textiles and clothing.
